Why IndyPendence?
IndyPendence offers nonresidential career training and education programs for low-income students 16 through 24 years old. You’ll get hands-on training in health care or finance and business at our campus in Indianapolis from our experienced instructors. You can also finish your high school diploma or equivalent, get your driver's license, and gain credentials so you graduate ready to work and succeed. If you prefer to live on campus in residential dorms, check out Atterbury Job Corps in Edinburgh.
If you are interested in attending college, we’ll help you get there, too. After Job Corps, you can continue your education through our partnership with Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana.
How do I know if I’m eligible?
There are a few eligibility requirements to meet before you can start training at IndyPendence Job Corps. For example, you should be a low-income 16- through 24-year-old and a U.S. citizen (or lawfully admitted permanent resident alien, refugee, asylee or other immigrant who has been authorized to work in the United States).
Connect with an admissions staff member to learn more about income eligibility; but you may qualify if you receive SNAP, TANF, or free or reduced school lunch, or if you are experiencing homelessness or are a foster youth.
But is it really free?
It is! IndyPendence Job Corps is completely free of cost. All you have to do is show up, work hard and be ready to succeed.
If you can’t find the answer to any of your other questions here, keep scrolling! If you still have questions when you get to the end of this page, an admissions staff member will be able to help. To learn more and get connected, call 800-733-JOBS (5627).
Confidence, independence, success and passion begin at Job Corps.
