Moving from your Job Corps campus to full-time employment is a big change, but Job Corps is here to support you with the Transition Hub Advanced Training program at Gulfport Job Corps. The program gives you the support you need as you begin your career and transition to an independent lifestyle.
What is the Transition Hub?
The Transition Hub Advanced Training program gives you the opportunity to continue living on a Job Corps campus while you begin working full time and preparing for independent living. As you start your career, you will remain enrolled in Job Corps and participate in life-skills training focused on topics like personal finance, housing, transportation, insurance and work-life balance, helping you build the skills and confidence to live on your own.

Feel at Home
Enjoy the familiarity of living on a Job Corps campus while you start your new career.
Prepare for Success
Receive enhanced support services, like assistance with finding permanent housing, transportation and other essential resources, to help you get acclimated and ready to live on your own.
Build Life skills
Learn important skills to build your independence, like personal finance, understanding insurance, how to navigate work/life balance and more.
Who can apply?
The Transition Hub is available to qualified Job Corps students who are ready to begin their careers and take the next step toward independence. To be eligible, you’ll need:
To be at least 18 years old
Driver’s license or other state-issued identification
To complete a Job Corps basic training program and/or an advanced training program that qualifies you for employment with an industry partner
High school diploma or the equivalent (you can earn this at Job Corps too!)
To meet academic (math and reading) requirements
To complete all credentials related to safety, such as OSHA-10
Positive attendance and progress record
Written recommendation from Job Corps center personnel
Health clearance at current center
Strong work ethic and determination to succeed
To complete an employment application with an industry partner
